Circular on the 3rd SSN Workshop at NSO/Tucson, 22-25 January 2013

The 3rd SSN Workshop will be held at the National Solar Observatory at 950 N. Cherry Ave. in Tucson, Arizona during 22-25 January 2013 (Tuesday to Friday following the Martin Luther King holiday on January 21).

The primary goal of this workshop is to extend the reconciled SSN time series back from Schwabe (1826) through Staudacher (1750).

An excursion to Kitt Peak is planned for Wednesday afternoon.

Lodging: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Residence Inn East Speedway at a current US Government rate of $103.75 per night (including all taxes), complete with a hot breakfast buffet and in-room internet service (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/tusaz-residence-inn-tucson/). To reserve a room at the Residence Inn, contact Priscilla Piano at nso@nso.edu (phone: 520-318-8294). ***Please make your reservation by 30 November***

Transportation will be provided between the hotel and the meeting site.

Please contact us with any questions. A final circular with detailed directions, etc., will be sent in early January.

There is no need to respond if you are unable to attend the workshop. We will keep everyone on the mailing list and will look forward to seeing many of you who cannot come to Tucson in Switzerland about one year from now (exact dates TBD) for the 4th SSN Workshop. The principal goal of the 4th Workshop will be to have the full 1610-present time series available for final discussion before publication.
